Oh how I just adore the family I'm blogging about today. I'm lucky enough to say I've been photographing (at least part of) the Dirks family for years now! What started as a coworker of my husbands, has turned into an entire family of dear friends.
The family who is scattered between Michigan, Kentucky and Washington D.C., comes together in different a location each year. Last year they wore shirts with the city name they met in and they carried on the tradition this year sporting their Louisville Cardinals gear. I'm eager to see where they end up next year. It'll be such a special memory-sparking tradition to look back on (and maybe an idea I'll steal for my own family).
And as for the day of the shoot, I had a great time! I think they had a pretty great time, too. We met at Papa Johns Park in Louisville, Kentucky. It was hot, but beautiful. We were able to get some great shots of the whole family together, individual families and of course those sweet shots with the grand babies for grandma and grandpa. My favorites though were the candid shots when I asked everyone to tickle Grandpa. The love this family has for one another just shines through. It's so special and I'm honored they asked me to spend the day with them.
Okay, enough from me, see for yourself. Check out the fantastic Dirks family!
